The Christian Life and Public Affairs Committee has named East Cooper Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant, as the 2013 Impact Your World Award recipient. The church is recognized for sharing the gospel, meeting needs and being actively involved in community social and moral issues.

Under the leadership of pastor Buster Brown, East Cooper Church members are recognized for passionately sharing the love of Jesus through conventional and non-conventional ways to help eliminate suffering in their local community, the state, nation, and around the world. The church has sponsored or supported Agape Hospice Lowcountry, Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Harvest Free Medical Clinic, a prison ministry, ReStartSC Career Development Community, The Journey House ministry to families dealing with a critically ill child, and a veteran’s ministry. East Cooper Church is also actively involved with The A21 Campaign, an international non-governmental organization dedicated to abolishing human trafficking.
