Pastor and Christian filmmaker Michael Catt will headline a group of speakers who will drive home the importance of passing down a “Legacy” at the 2014 State Evangelism Conference, to be held Feb. 18-20 at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley.

The conference’s theme, which aims to “challenge the church to be intentional about passing on the truths of the gospel to the next generation,” will be bolstered by preaching from three father-and-son combinations, said Lee Clamp, evangelism director for the South Carolina Baptist Convention.

“We are always only one generation away from seeing a nation of people turn their backs on God and his call to take the gospel to our neighborhoods and uttermost parts of the world,” said Clamp. “Are we guilty of not passing on the mission of making disciples by first telling them the good news of Jesus?”

Catt, whom Clamp says “has a desire to see the next generation impacted for the Lord,” is senior pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., and is executive producer of the movies “Fireproof,” “Courageous” and “Facing the Giants.”

The father-son preaching teams will include Don and Rocky Purvis (Kershaw Baptist Association and Northside Baptist Church, West Columbia); Herb and Josh Reavis (North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Fla.); and Don and Brad Whitt (Don Whitt Evangelistic Association and Abilene Baptist Church, Augusta, Ga.).

Other speakers will include David Gallamore, pastor of the host church, Rock Springs Baptist Church; Phil Hoskins, pastor of Higher Ground Church, Kingsport, Tenn.; and Jeff LaBorg, pastor of First Baptist Church (East Campus), Indian Trail, N.C.
