Chris Yeargin was commissioned recently by Ridge Spring Baptist Church, Ridge Association, to serve as a chaplain in the United States Army. Yeargin, 40, who served as Ridge Spring’s pastor for seven years, is completing training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, and will graduate this spring. He will eventually be stationed at Fort Stuart in Georgia. Yeargin and his wife, Marcia, have three young daughters and plan to remain members at Ridge Spring. Former pastor Dow Welsh officiated at the commissioning service.
