I was thrilled to read the articles in the June issue about South Carolina missionaries Mary Saunders and Brett and Kristin Myers. Reading your articles on them was informing and encouraging.

We have a long history of sending out missionaries here in South Carolina. Many of our churches have individuals and families who are currently serving as missionaries. Approximately 250 career missionaries serving through IMB and NAMB claim South Carolina as their home. My prayer is that by hearing these stories and getting to know our missionaries, more people will answer the call to go and serve.

Short-term and long-term personnel are needed right now. When churches pray for missionaries by name and join them in their work, the Lord is glorified, missionaries are encouraged, and the gospel spreads.

Thanks for helping to personalize missions through these stories. I hope you will continue lifting up those God has called out to serve in North America and around the world.
