State CP giving 6 percent behind budget

Gifts from South Carolina Baptist churches through the Cooperative Program were 6.06 percent short of budgeted goals through August, according to information released by Pam Carroll, chief financial officer for the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The state convention budget runs from Jan. 1-Dec. 31.

At the national level, year-to-date contributions to Southern Baptist national and international missions and ministries were 2.11 percent below budgeted needs with one month left in the SBC fiscal year, which runs Oct. 1-Sept. 30.

The Cooperative Program is Southern Baptists’ channel of giving through which a local church is able to contribute to the ministries of its state convention and to the missions and ministries of the Southern Baptist Convention with a single contribution to its state convention.
