Charleston Southern University named to Best Christian College, Best College Buy list

Charleston Southern University has received national recognition once again, being named to America’s 100 Best College Buys list for the 10th consecutive year and America’s Best Christian Colleges list for the 16th consecutive year.

“We are very pleased to be recognized once again for these outstanding awards,” said Debbie Williamson, vice president for enrollment management. “We work very hard to provide an excellent education at an affordable price. Faith integration is our number one distinctive and is at the core of our mission and vision.”

America’s 100 Best College Buys honors outstanding colleges offering high quality educations at the lowest possible costs. Of the more than 1,100 schools responding to the survey, the survey results showed a national average cost of attendance based upon the regular cost at private institutions and the out-of-state cost at public institutions for 2014-2015 of $38,541. Charleston Southern’s cost for 2014-2015 is $31,800.

Charleston Southern is one of two private universities in South Carolina named to the list, the other being Anderson University. South Carolina public universities named to the list are Clemson, Coastal Carolina, USC and Winthrop.

The America’s Best Christian Colleges list honors schools providing a quality education in a Christian environment. The annual list recognizes schools affiliated with a recognized Christian denomination or an interdenominational institution incorporating basic Christian principles and beliefs into the instructional curriculum and/or social environment. Charleston Southern is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
