‘Immigration Awareness’ event April 29

A trio of evangelical groups, including the Spartanburg County Baptist Network, will hold an “Immigration Awareness” briefing and luncheon April 29.

The event is designed to explore the role of evangelicals “in helping mold a policy that is biblical and just” for immigration reform, according to a press release from Spartanburg County Network.

Other sponsors are the World Relief Corporation of National Association of Evangelicals and the Evangelical Immigration Table.

The briefing and luncheon begin at 10 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m.

Matthew Soerens, author of “Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate,” will speak.

The lunch is free but requires an RSVP by noon on April 26.
