Laurens pastor wins awards at Ridgecrest writers conference

Rhett H. Wilson, pastor of The Spring Church in Laurens, a Southern Baptist fellowship, recently received three awards at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference in Ridgecrest, N.C., one of the largest meetings for Christian writers in the country held annually in May. Around 400 people attended the annual conference, where they gathered to learn and collaborate about writing and publishing. Wilson received the following three awards for the unpublished authors contest: Honorable Mention in Devotions for his devotional book, “God in the Bookstore”; 3rd place in Poetry for his poem, “A Clean House One Day”; and 2nd place in Non-Fiction Books for “Hurt by the Church, Healed by Jesus.” Wilson’s blog — “Faith, Family, and Friends” — can be found at www.rhettwilson.blogspot.com.
