Greenville pastor Paul K. Wilson celebrates 50 years of ministry

On June 12, Providence Baptist Church, Greenville, celebrated pastor Paul K. Wilson’s 50th anniversary in the ministry. Wilson, 81, and his wife, Vette, have been at Providence since August 2004. He grew up in the Poe Mill community and made a profession of faith in 1948 at David Street Baptist Church, Greenville, where he was licensed to the ministry in 1964 and ordained in 1968. Wilson graduated in 1970 from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and served several Baptist churches before his call to Providence — Bethany, Pine Grove, Cedar Lane, and North Fork. Presenting a gift of appreciation to Wilson (center) are Carl Clark, chairman of deacons, and Randy Rice, music director.
