Beverly Kemp recently retired as secretary of West Side Baptist Church, Greenwood, after 37 years of service. She began her duties in August of 1977, when office equipment consisted of an electric typewriter, an offset printer, a folding machine and a hand labeler. During her 37 years at West Side, Kemp has worked with four pastors, five ministers of education and associate pastors, and four ministers of music and financial secretaries. Kemp says she has “loved and enjoyed” her work, knowing that God’s hand was upon her in this position, and counts it a pleasure to have served at West Side.
