Gary Anderson began work as the Cooperative Program director for the South Carolina Baptist Convention Oct. 1.?He is responsible for overseeing and promoting the Cooperative Program throughout South Carolina.

Anderson most recently was pastor of Kelleytown Baptist Church in Hartsville. He has been a consultant for the Cooperative Program since 2002 and has served on the board of directors for the South Carolina Baptist Foundation.
He has also served in various capacities in Welsh Neck Association, including serving as chairman of Raceway Ministries, which includes “Bring-A-Kid” at Darlington Raceway each year.
“I am excited, humbled and honored to serve the 2,039 churches of the SCBC. To share the story and the necessity of our continuing to work together for kingdom growth is a calling I consider a tremendous privilege.”
He and his wife Nita have two sons.
