Don WiltonI trust this note finds you well, happy and rejoicing in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for your life and testimony and for the manner in which you are serving our Savior. I am deeply honored to serve as your president this year, and want you to know how much I love you and how much I am praying for you. My prayer is that you will be encouraged in your heart, to the extent that 2006 will be the greatest year you have experienced in your personal life and in the ministry context of your beloved church family and congregation.
As we look back over the past year, we have so much for which to thank the Lord as we served Him together. Our partnership together as South Carolina Baptists carries with it a major responsibility in stewardship and ministry. Thousands of people look to our example and so many are blessed as a result. We have a great deal of work to do.
As you read this edition of The Baptist Courier, you will be blessed, challenged and motivated to rise to greater heights, as we seek to lead all people to the foot of the cross. We have a Savior who loves us beyond ourselves, we have the infrastructure and organization to support the work God has given us to do. We have scores of godly and committed people who are willing to serve, and we have a clear mandate from God’s word to “go into all the world” and tell people about the Lord Jesus Christ.
I want to encourage you to keep the “main thing” the “main thing” and focus on knowing and doing the will of God. Have a wonderful New Year, and know that I love you and pray for you.
