An open letter to S.C. Baptists: SCBMA ‘not out of woods yet’

The Baptist Courier

Last year, South Carolina Baptist Ministries for the Aging faced the possibility that we would have to end our ministry to the elderly. However, churches all over this state joined together and provided a strong Mother’s Day Offering that allowed both Bethea and Martha Franks to continue their work as distinctive Baptist ministries.

Since then, we have made a number of financial and management changes to strengthen our ministry. Volunteers have come in and helped us begin making some needed repairs to our facilities.

However, we are not out of the woods yet. Simply put, we need a strong Mother’s Day Offering this year.

Scripture says, “as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10, HCSB). The Mother’s Day Offering provides an opportunity for every person and every church to minister to their Christian bothers and sisters who live on our two campuses.

Please pray for this year’s Mother’s Day Offering, and support it with your gifts. Your help can make a big difference in our continued ability to provide quality care in a Christ-centered environment.
