A proposal for an Acts 1:8 strategy for 2006-07 garnered unanimous support from members of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists during their June 12 business meeting. Corresponding to the arenas of missions in Acts 1:8, the document recommends:
– “A Jerusalem Strategy: Church Revivals and Other Special Evangelistic Events”: Each state convention is asked to train church revival and event evangelism consultants.
– “A Judea Strategy: Area-Wide Crusades and Other Regional Harvest Evangelism Events”: Ten “elite” national crusade consultants trained by NAMB would be used by state conventions for conducting area-wide crusades.
– “A Samaria Strategy: Harvest Evangelists in New Work Areas of North America and in Low/No Baptism Churches”: COSBE is asked to choose a development officer “to collect a significant endowment corpus” needed to conduct revivals in these churches.
– “A Global Strategy: Finding and Winning ‘Lydias’ from Other Nations to Faith in Jesus Christ”: “Evangelistic contacts are encouraged with representatives of unreached people groups. – COSBE will provide support for these new Christians to help take the gospel to their people, tribe or nation.”
