The state senate has adopted a resolution honoring Carlisle Driggers, who at the end of the February will retire as executive director-treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
Adopted May 24, the resolution praises Driggers for “his outstanding leadership of and commitment to” the convention, which elected the Hartsville native in 1991.
The resolution cites the vision of Driggers “which led him to create and implement Empowering Kingdom Growth, a strategy for enhancing church growth,” noting that EKG “gained national recognition and brought great honor to the South Carolina Baptist Convention when it was adopted as a strategy by the Southern Baptist Convention.”
The resolution also praises the leadership of Driggers, which “has led the South Carolina Baptist Convention to new heights” and which, upon his retirement, “leaves the organization in excellent shape for a new executive director to carry on his vision.”
