Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, commissioned 28 youth and adults on June 10 to partner with a new church in West Virginia. This trip followed a week of Vacation Bible School, directed by Barbara Kay Newman. Terry Corder is the pastor at Mt. Pisgah.

Westside Baptist Church, Cheraw, burned the mortgage on its family life center during the Fourth of July weekend. The 15-year-note was paid off in seven years. Mt. Leon Baptist Church, Longs, held a dedication service April 23 for its new fellowship hall. Construction of the 4,800-square-foot facility was funded by donations from individuals and businesses, and volunteer labor was provided by a Carpenters for Christ group from Alabama.
First Baptist Church, Hartsville, and First Baptist Church, Laurens, partnered on a mission trip to Trinidad July 10-17. The 32-member group consisted of a medical team (doctor, dentist, optometrist, pharmacist, nurses and support staff), a construction team, and a Vacation Bible School team. Also represented on the team were members of West Hartsville Baptist Church.
