I love and appreciate each and every one of you, my friends. As I continue to revel in my call to serve our Savior among my people in Spartanburg, I must say it gives me great delight to hear of the incredible faithfulness of so many of our people across our beautiful state of South Carolina.
Don WiltonWe are so blessed, indeed, to live in such a magnificent place. Thank you for your devotion to the Lord Jesus. Thank you for your unselfish and generous spirit. Thank you for being an encourager to your pastors and ministers and sons and daughters. Thank you for taking prayer seriously. Thank you for reading this letter.
You do not have to do this any more than you have to be a blessing in your church. We live in a world filled with options of every kind. You can read what you choose. You and I can go to the church of our choice. And we can choose what kind of people we are going to be.
As for me and my house, we have chosen the Lord! And I am glad you have done so, too. Believe me when I tell you that we are blessed in South Carolina. And with these blessings comes great responsibility to our Savior.
After serving First Baptist in Spartanburg for all these years, I have come to the point in my life that I truly believe the best is yet to be. And, so, I called our entire church back into Experiencing God, a ministry we undertook more than 11 years ago that truly transformed the essential nature, character and mission of our people and church.
Little did I realize, however, that it would all begin with me. I have poured out my heart to my God and my people and am now convinced the best is yet to be. How about you? All it takes is for one or two of you to make a determination to have a fresh encounter with our Savior for the Spirit of the Living God to shake you personally at the very core of your being and then invite you to make the necessary adjustments to join Him in His work.
