CP giving 2.41% above last year

Year-to-date contributions through the Cooperative Program are 2.41 percent above the same time frame in 2005, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee president and chief executive officer Morris Chapman.

As of July 31, the year-to-date total of $167,602,584 for Cooperative Program missions is $3,940,702 above the $163,661,881 received at the same point in 2005. For the month, receipts of $16,328,109 were 12.43 percent, or $2,316,647, below the $18,644,757 received in July 2005.

Designated giving of $182,780,345 for the same year-to-date period is 2.27 percent, or $4,054,557 below gifts of $178,725,787 received at this point last year. The $9,843,607 in designated gifts received last month is $2,015,837 above the $7,827,770 received in July 2005, an increase of 25.75 percent.

For the SBC Cooperative Program allocation budget, the year-to-date total of $167,602,584 is 105.93 percent of the $158,221,045 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America.

The Cooperative Program is Southern Baptists’ method of supporting missions and ministry efforts of state and regional conventions and the Southern Baptist Convention.
