Gary H. Hayes, 61, pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Pageland, died suddenly July 26.
His former South Carolina pastorates included Taylors Grove Baptist Church, Lancaster; Second Baptist Church, Great Falls; South Florence Baptist Church; and First Baptist Church, Valley Falls. He also pastored Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Lenoir, N.C.
He was a minister for 38 years.
He was a graduate of Friendship College and Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute.
He served on the Nominating Committee of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Helen T. Hayes, four daughters and 12 grandchildren.
