Volunteers needed for ‘shoeboxes’

The Baptist Courier

Operation Christmas Child is signing up volunteers to participate in its processing center in Charlotte, N.C.

Last year, many South Carolina churches collected thousands of shoeboxes filled with goodies.

Used as a tool to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, pastors in countries all over world distribute the shoeboxes as gifts.

Local teams in Greenville, Columbia and Aiken can assist churches with ideas on collections and speakers who share what Operation Christmas Child is about.

Groups wanting to participate or talk to an OCC representative may contact Phil Barks at (704) 583-1463 or pbarks@samaritan.org.

This year, the national collection week is Nov. 13-20. See www.samaritanpurse.org for your local drop-off center and instructions for filling a shoebox.
