Longtime members Liston and Julia Woodberry were recently honored by Nebo Baptist Church, Britton’s Neck. Liston joined the church when he was about 13 years old and has served in several positions there. Julia, who joined the church in 1948 at age 18, has been church treasurer for more than 40 years. An engraved silver tray was given to the couple for their 50-plus years of service.
Thomas Cartledge retired Aug. 13 from the pulpit of First Baptist Church, Gray Court. Cartledge, who had served the church for nine years, and his wife Gwenn were given a gift from the church on his retirement.
