Chapin Baptist Church launched an effort to serve the community of Chapin through “40 Days of Outreach,” which began in October. During the last 40 days, the Chapin Baptist family has engaged in 46 different service projects, donating 1,787 hours of time with more than 325 people involved.
The church partnered with community organizations such as Generations, Open Arms, Meals on Wheels, Hospice Care, GoODWorks and We Care, as well as international organizations such as Operation Christmas Child and AIDS caregivers in Africa.
Projects included leading worship celebrations at Generations and Open Arms, putting a new roof on a home in Chapin, repairing a floor in Pomaria, delivering Meals on Wheels, holding a skaters’ party, cleaning yards, and remodeling a mobile home.
The “40 Days” effort has made members aware of the needs of their community and has created a desire to see the 40 Days grow into continued service throughout the year. The outreach is a continuing extension of the vision of Chapin Baptist Church to help people connect with God and become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
