“Out of the Blocks,” an event co-sponsored by Charleston Southern University and evangelist Jay Strack for Spartanburg-area youth, will be hosted by Bethlehem Baptist Church, Roebuck, Jan. 17 at 6:15 p.m.

“The event encourages youth to bring fellow students who are lost and those who are struggling with their walk with the Lord Jesus,” said Skip Owens, director of CSU’s denominational relations. “The event also is to enhance youth leaders in their ministry to youth and encourage active youth to be on mission with the Lord Jesus Christ,” he added.

Charleston Southern has sponsored similar Strack events across the state annually for the past several years. “After every event, I’ve heard comments such as, the message was relevant, lives were changed, we needed to hear what Dr. Strack said, and what an awesome experience,” Owens said.

Strack, a national leader in developing youth with a biblical worldview, is founder of an evangelistic ministry based in Orlando, Fla., called Student Leadership University.

CSU will partner again with Strack on March 2 and 3 for “Leadership Rocks,” a youth event at First Baptist Church, Columbia. For more information, go to www.leadershiprocks.com.
