SCBC scholarships available

The Baptist Courier

Scholarships for South Carolina Baptist college/university and seminary students pursuing a church-related vocation are available through the state convention’s collegiate ministry group.

Active resident members of a South Carolina Baptist church for at least nine months prior to the beginning of the academic year who are enrolled in a South Carolina college/university or a Southern Baptist seminary, and agree to participate in a ministry-related experience each week, are eligible. Southern Baptist missionary dependents whose parents list South Carolina as their home state are also eligible.

Funds are provided through the Cooperative Program and the Richard Furman Scholarship Fund. All scholarships are based on financial need, and funds are sent directly to the institution to be applied for tuition, room and board, and academic fees.

Richard Furman Scholarships for seminary students are awarded to South Carolinians who are members of a Southern Baptist Convention church and will attend one of the six Southern Baptist seminaries: Golden Gate, Midwestern, New Orleans, Southeastern, Southern or Southwestern.
