Page will preach at the 6:30 p.m. service, but the celebration of Concord’s 100th birthday will begin that morning at 10:30 with a presentation of the musical, “God with Us,” featuring the church’s choir and orchestra.

The special services then run through April 25 and pick up again on the weekend, April 28-29.

In services also to begin at 6:30, Pete Wilbanks, a professor at North Greenville University, will speak on April 23; Roy Fish, an evangelist and professor of evangelism at Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Tex., on April 24; and Rick Gage, an evangelist from Duluth, Ga., on April 25.

Don Cox, pastor at Concord, will preach at the 6 p.m. service on April 28, with Bob Marcaurelle, the retired pastor of Concord Baptist, bringing the closing message at the 10:30 a.m. service on April 29. He was Concord’s pastor for nearly 31 years.

Representatives from Salem and Hopewell Baptist churches met on Dec. 18, 1907, to consider organizing a new congregation. Concord Baptist Church grew out of that meeting.

Today, Concord has more than 1,900 members and has consistently supported Southern Baptist causes.
