Paul Hayes, 90, of Liberty, a retired minister whose service as an Upstate pastor spanned six decades, died May 4, 2007, at a health care facility in Fairview, N.C.
Paul HayesHe was born in Pickens County. He attended North Greenville College and Furman University.
Hayes was a member of First Baptist Church, Liberty, and served for 62 years as a pastor of churches in Anderson, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg counties.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Christine Holladay Hayes, two children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
