First Baptist Church in Gaffney has established a scholarship that honors its pastor emeritus. The M.B. Morrow Jr. Scholarship Endowment is intended for students at institutions of higher learning and is administered through the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina.

Morrow, who was named pastor emeritus last December, has been interim pastor of 15 churches since his retirement. A former president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, he has served as a trustee of Anderson and Furman universities and Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville.
Morrow says his greatest joy in life is “seeing people who were under his ministry be called by God to do ministry themselves – whether full time ministry or lay ministry.”
He and his wife Beverly have three children – May Beth Robinson, a first grade school teacher; Bobby, a pastor in North Carolina; and Maureen Honeycutt, a minister of music.
Contributions to the fund can be made to the Baptist Foundation, 190 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia 29210-8239. Additional information is available from Gaffney First Baptist, 200 North Limestone St., Gaffney 29340, (864) 489-6064.
