South Carolina WMU leaders were among 180 participants representing 21 states who gathered for the Training Effective Leaders conference hosted by national WMU, Feb. 15-18, at Shocco Springs Conference Center in Talladega, Ala.

“Over the past 10 years, TEL conferences have provided women a significant opportunity to receive instruction in missions education curriculum as well as guidance in planning their approaches to being missions leaders in their states,” said Caroline Jones, missions innovator for national WMU.
At TEL, state and associational leaders learned how to be strong advocates for missions education and involvement through WMU by receiving training and practical helps in leading conferences, age-level consulting, and more. TEL conferences are designed so that leaders will take home new ideas and train, equip, and encourage church WMU leaders in their area and grow the WMU family.
