I was a Christian for nearly 20 years prior to joining my Masonic fraternity, and I have been a Mason for nearly 25 years.
Many members of my family and many of my friends have been involved in the Masonic fraternity for much of their adult lives. I can clearly state, in no uncertain terms, that I have never been subjected to any of the teachings as were described in the letter by Mr. Cromer. Further, I remain unconvinced that the Masons I share membership in our fraternity with would stand for an organization such as was described in Mr. Cromer’s letter. Masonic tenets are simple: friendship, morality and brotherly love.
Editor’s Note: Recent editions of the Courier have carried letters expressing opinions favorable to, and critical of, Freemasonry. The Courier believes that both viewpoints have been given adequate attention and no further letters on this issue will be published. – Editor
