The scholarship committee of First Baptist Church, Great Falls, awarded its education scholarships during the morning worship service on July 6 to three young adults: Joshua Heffner, Dakota McMurray and Scotty Smith.
The scholarships are made possible from the combined totals of two educational school funds established by the families of former members of the church.
The John and Lula Howard Scholarship fund was established in 1977 by Edith Gunter in memory of her parents, who were longtime residents of Great Falls and members of First Baptist Church.
The family of Charlie Martin established the Charlie Martin Educational Fund in 1985 through the Baptist Foundation in his memory. Martin was also a longtime resident of Great Falls and a member of First Baptist Church.
