The freshman classes at Anderson University in 2005 and 2006 were all-time records for the university, but the increase expected in the fall of 2007 far surpasses those numbers. With 425 new freshmen and 75 transfer students expected this August, Anderson is poised to enjoy the biggest year of growth in its history. The new freshmen and transfers will likely push the total enrollment at Anderson above the 1,800 mark for the first time as well.

Java City in the McClellion Caf? in Anderson’s new Thrift Library is a popular gathering place for students who will break enrollment records for the third straight year.

“We are excited about the prospects of breaking another enrollment record this fall,” said Anderson University president Evans Whitaker. “The efforts of our enrollment services team, together with the retention of our current students, are paying off and helping us to achieve our planned enrollment growth.”

Anderson University is preparing to house up to 950 students on its campus, another all-time record. A new residence hall under construction across Boulevard Street from campus is full before its completion.

Traditional students are not the only ones breaking records at Anderson. The adult evening studies program, ACCEL (Adults College Choice for Exceptional Learning) and its two-year-old graduate studies program are also at all-time highs in enrollment for the 2007-2008 academic year.
