Isn’t it time?

The Baptist Courier

In a recent issue of The Baptist Courier, we learned that Richard Porter, pastor of Branchville Baptist Church, will allow his name to be placed into nomination for convention president.

For the last several years, only pastors of large churches have been elected as president.Perhaps it is time for a change.

Branchville Church averages 91 in Sunday school. There are 2,062 churches in our state convention, and 1,100 of those churches average less than 91 in Sunday school. Branchville Baptist Church is representative of more than half the churches in our state convention.

Isn’t it time that we had a president whose ministry and church represents more than half of the Baptist churches in South Carolina?
