Gray authors ‘work’ book on marriage

James Rudy Gray, pastor of Utica Church in Seneca, has just completed a book on marriage, “Marriage That Works Is Work.”

He and his wife Anne have been conducting marriage retreats and seminars for the past 20 years. He is a national certified counselor (National Board for Certified Counselors) and a board certified Christian counselor (International Board for Christian Counselors).

The book is brief and designed to help couples build a healthy and godly marriage. The nine chapters in the book include a personality questionnaire and some information about personality type, birth order, male-female differences, the importance of couple friendship, healthy sexuality, communication, and financial counsel.

Gray noted, “This has been more than 20 years in the making. Both Anne and myself have learned much through study, experience, and through the interactions we have had with couples at the seminars and retreats we have led.”

He has written a column for The Baptist Courier for the past several years and also writes a column in Pulpit Helps called “The Counselor’s Corner.”

The book is available through the author at Utica Baptist Church or can be ordered online at his web page, jrgray.org. Volume discounts are available for churches and study groups by contacting him at jrgray5@bellsouth.net.
