Tim Stewart has joined the South Carolina Baptist Convention’s collegiate ministry staff as campus minister at the University of South Carolina and surrounding colleges.
Tim StewartStewart previously worked as the director for the Shreveport Baptist collegiate ministry in Louisiana, which serves seven different colleges and universities. He also worked at Louisiana College, the state’s only Baptist school.
“We are blessed to have Tim leading Baptist collegiate ministry for the Columbia area colleges.?He comes to us with a lot of collegiate ministry experience and has a passion to reach students for Christ,” said Ken Owens, director of the SCBC’s collegiate ministry group.
“The big thing for me is impact and I want my life to count for the kingdom of God,” Stewart said.
“The University of South Carolina is attracting students who will be impacting the world – South Carolina Baptist have made a major investment in college ministry and I feel a responsibility to utilize the gifts and resources to impact students with the gospel.”
Stewart and his wife Gretchen have two sons, Benjamin, 4 and Samuel, 16 months.
