Anderson University named to top 100 ‘best buys’

Anderson University has learned that it has been selected as one of “America’s 100 Best College Buys” by Institutional Research and Evaluation. This marks the first time AU has been named to the list.

To be considered for the list, an institution must be an accredited, four-year institution offering bachelor degrees; offer full residential facilities, including residence halls and dining services; have had an entering freshman class in the fall of 2006 with a high school grade point average and/or SAT/ACT score equal to or above the national average for entering college freshmen; and have an out-of-state cost of attendance in 2007-2008 for three quarters or two semesters below the national average cost of attendance, or not exceeding the national average cost by more than 10 percent.

In South Carolina, Clemson University, Charleston Southern University, College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina joined Anderson University on the top 100 best buys list.

The new recognition for AU comes on the heels of the university’s selection by U. S. News & World Report as of the top 11 universities of its kind in the South whose graduates have the least amount of educational debt.

Anderson University is a comprehensive university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention offering bachelors and masters degrees. Anderson is ranked in the Top Tier (top 34) of colleges and universities in the South by U. S.
