Spartanburg County Baptist Network’s annual meeting Oct. 23 launched its silver anniversary year. “Celebrating the Journey Behind Us” was the theme of the meeting held at Mountain View Baptist Church in Boiling Springs. The annual sermon by Danny Garrett, pastor of Cudd Memorial Baptist, was “How Memorial Can Bring Revival,” from 2 Kings 13:20-21.

A “History Makers” banquet for about 100 past leaders preceded the meeting. Oak Grove Baptist Church made and presented the silver anniversary year banner, which featured the new logo by Sandy Thompson of Anderson Mill Road Church. Former staff were recognized in the annual meeting, with first DOM Ray Batson receiving the “Lifetime Achievement Award.” A new six-minute DVD about the Network was shown, with each church receiving a copy.
Spartanburg County Network was formed by the 1983 merger of Spartanburg, Spartan and North Spartan associations. Jim Goodroe is director of missions.
