Ridgeway pastor authors book on church discipline

Every church, regardless of its denominational affiliation, should have a standard of both belief and behavior that is derived from the Christian scriptures, a Ridgeway pastor maintains in his newly released book. But what should a church do if these standards are being violated among its own members, he explores.

Observing that there has been a growing trend in recent years to simply look the other way, don’t rock the boat, and pretend such things don’t exist, John Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, Ridgeway, explains the biblical perspectives regarding discipline within the local church.

In his book, “Sin in the Assembly: A Guide for Local Baptist Church Discipline,” which was recently released by PublishAmerica, Williamson writes from the perspective of a local church pastor with 30 years of experience having served churches in New York, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. He has taught at three seminaries in New York, Alabama, and at the Southern Baptist Extension Seminary in Gastonia, N.C.
