SBC president to appear on documentary

The Baptist Courier

Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention and pastor of Taylors First Baptist Church, will be featured in a CBS television special to air Dec. 23 at 9 p.m.

“In God’s Name” will explore “the complex questions of our time through the intimate thoughts and beliefs of 12 of the world’s most influential spiritual leaders,” according to a press release from CBS. The leaders will offer perspective on such post-9/11 issues as the rise of terrorism, fanaticism, religious intolerance and war, the release said.

In addition to Page, other religious leaders scheduled to appear include Pope Benedict XVI; the Dalai Lama; Yona Metzger, the chief rabbi of Israel; and Ayatollah Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah, a prominent Shi’ite Muslim leader.

“In God’s Name” is produced by filmmakers Jules and Gedeon Naudet and CBS News’ Susan Zirinsky, who last collaborated as executive producers for the network’s film, “9/11,” which won Peabody and Emmy awards.
