“Deeply committed churches are made up of fully surrendered believers. The goal is to leave Rock Hill fully surrendered and deeply committed to things Christ says are most important. In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus lays out his expectations for his church: worship him, submit to his authority, go, make disciples, baptize and teach,” said Marshall Fagg, director, South Carolina Baptist Convention evangelism and missions team.

Jim Austin, David Uth, Ron Barker, Stephen Rummage, Junior Hill and Charles Roesel will speak during the two-day conference, beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, with music by the Whisnants and the Rock Hill First Baptist Church choir. Preceding the conference from 2-4 p.m. on Monday afternoon will be numerous workshops designed to assist the church in carrying out the task of evangelism, including praying evangelistically, “A Story to Tell, Every Believer a Witness,” Internet evangelism, “ACTS: A Church That Serves,” ministry evangelism, Men’s Fraternity, and “Revitalizing the Church.” Everyone attending will receive a copy of Ken and Paula Hemphill’s new book, “S.P.L.A.S.H.”

Following the conference, Dwight Huffman from the Canadian Baptist Convention will lead a scouting and prayerwalking clinic at 5 p.m. for anyone interested in participating in a mission trip to Nova Scotia this summer. The trips will be focused on identifying new church start opportunities as a part of Encounter Canada, a strategy to evangelize Canada by 2020.

Fagg says, “I am excited about being in Rock Hill for the first time. This is one of the fastest-growing areas of our state. Rock Hill First Baptist is conveniently surrounded by hotels, restaurants and shopping, which should make this year’s conference an even more enjoyable experience.”
