‘Reaching our world for Christ’

The Baptist Courier

We wish to express sincere gratitude for your prayers and support during the past year. The past 12 months have been challenging and rewarding. Because of friends like you standing with us, we continue to fulfill our promise of preparing graduates and transforming lives.

Perhaps you have already heard that Chief U.S. District Judge David Norton, a well-respected federal judge in Charleston, signed and filed a bar order on May 12 that will greatly help resolve the unfortunate circumstances placed on the university by former economics professor Al Parish. The bar order provides a positive outcome for CSU and the many investors/victims of Dr. Parish’s investment schemes and allows the university to move forward.

We are committed to achieving the university’s vision, “to be a Christian university nationally recognized for integrating faith in learning, leading and serving.” The university continues to attract gifted and talented Christian faculty and staff who are dedicated to our vision. Enrollment applications for fall are very strong.

A testament to Charleston Southern’s local and global ministry initiatives is that more than 1,000 people came to know Christ this past school year through our ministry endeavors. Charleston Southern is reaching our world for Christ by sending forth hundreds of faculty, staff and students across the United States and around the world. Please keep our CSU ministry teams in your prayers.

In closing, I am reminded of the words of the apostle Paul: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel” (Philippians 1:3-5).

Your prayers and support are sustaining us as our university moves forward. Thanks to the blessings from God, our vision is becoming a reality.
