Summerton Baptist Church spearheaded its sixth annual Men’s Wild Game Supper March 13 at Bellview Farms, near Goat Island. This event is supported by churches in Santee Baptist Association and other area churches. This year’s speaker was Rick Burgess, host of “The Rick and Bubba Show,” a syndicated radio show on more than 50 stations. More than 2,000 men attended the supper, which requires more than 120 volunteers to cook, serve and clean, said Rob Pierce, pastor at Summerton. Eighteen men made professions of faith and approximately 250 recommitted their lives to Christ. After the supper, Pierce flew back to Birmingham to be a guest on “The Rick and Bubba Show.” With Pierce, center, are Rick Burgess and Bill “Bubba” Bussey.
