Charleston Southern University played host again this summer to the high impact ministry of M-Fuge. Approximately 3,297 youth from church groups across the nation convened on the campus for ministry throughout the Charleston tri-county area.

M-Fuge is a ministry that offers mission projects to students and adults within a camp atmosphere. Once the youth arrive on campus, they are assigned to service projects throughout the Charleston area. “M-Fuge is such a blessing on our campus and to the entire greater Charleston area,” said Charleston Southern campus minister Clark Carter. “Over the past three years, we have seen more than 3,000 people come to know Christ through the ministries of Charleston Southern. Some of the success is due to the great work that M-Fuge does every summer. We are so thankful that they are partners in ministry,” he said.

M-Fuge site director Michelle Roark said,” M-Fuge Charleston was a great success again this summer, thanks in large part to the year-round work of Charleston Southern students and staff, Charleston Outreach, and the Screven Baptist Association.” Through the ministry of M-Fuge Charleston, $47,295 was raised for missions, and 29 salvations were reported. Other ministry testimonies include 159 rededications and 68 decisions on ministry site in Charleston.

“The focus of M-Fuge continues to resonate with Charleston Southern’s vision of integrating faith in learning, leading and serving,” said Rick Brewer, vice president of planning and student affairs. The impact of M-Fuge is felt long after the teams are gone. Brewer added, “Several outreach initiatives launched by the M-Fuge program are continued throughout the academic year by various student organizations of the university. Charleston Southern’s partnership with LifeWay’s M-Fuge program continues to provide the university’s faculty and students numerous opportunities to experience missional work on a global level annually.”

Charleston Southern again this year was one of the largest host sites for M-Fuge ministry. Roark spoke highly of the experience at Charleston Southern. “While the staff members of M-Fuge feel truly privileged to invest in the lives of students, children and elderly adults in and around Charleston, our joy is compounded by knowing that the Lord will see his work through to completion, often through students and staff members that we get to know during our stay at Charleston Southern,” she said.
