Wilton headlines Bible Fest weekend at North Greenville

Don Wilton, pastor of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, and former president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, will be keynote speaker for Bible Fest, Nov. 21-22, at North Greenville University.

With music provided by Joyful Sound and Steve Kaminski, the conference also features addresses by college professors David Haynie, “Benefits of Bible Study”; Walter Johnson, “The Inerrant Bible”; Ronald Marks, “Science and the Bible”; Gene Gurganus, “Islam and the Bible”; Kelechi Benet, “The Unbound Bible”; James Deuink, “The Bible and Education”; and Sen. David Thomas, “The Bible in Governance.”

Dick Jensen, president of First Foundations, which is sponsoring the event, and former professor at North Greenville, also announced two student writing contests in connection with Bible Fest. Upstate high school seniors are invited to compete for NGU scholarships by writing essays on Bible themes, and NGU students can compete for gift certificates by writing essays. A Bible quiz for area high school students, based on questions related to the Gospel of Mark, is also planned.
