Visitors will be taken back in time to the events surrounding the birth of Jesus when the Bethea Baptist Retirement Community, in cooperation with several churches in the Pee Dee area, host the second annual “Come to Bethlehem” dramatization of the first Christmas.

The living re-creation of the village of Bethlehem at the retirement facility in Darlington, which Bethea officials hope will be “bigger and better” than the inaugural event, is set for Dec. 11-13 from 6:30-9 each evening.

In 2007, more than 7,000 visitors participated in the “Come to Bethlehem” dramatization, which featured more than 200 actors in a cooperative effort of some 20 area churches.

The event is free, and visitors may drive or walk through the re-created village. Additional information is available from Ashley Rhodes at (877) 393-2867.
