In January, North Greenville University will offer its master of Christian ministry and business administration programs in an online format.
Students will be able to take classes in Christian ministry and business administration on home or office computers.Online offerings provide an educational opportunity to students who do not live within driving distance or who desire the convenience of attending class from anywhere, at any time.
Ed Sherbert, an experienced online teacher and NGU faculty member, is the new director of graduate online education for the university.
“Dr. Sherbert brings a wealth of know-how to the enterprise of online teaching and learning,” said Sam Isgett, vice president and dean for graduate studies. “We see online education as a key to unlocking opportunities for many students who might not be able to take advantage of traditional face-to-face formats. To offer these programs in the context of Christ-centered graduate education potentially extends the ministry of South Carolina Baptists to a new global population.”
After launching the T. Walter Brashier Graduate School in 2006, the university has seen more than 60 adults earn master’s degrees. Currently, 154 students are enrolled in classes that meet at the Fairview campus in Greer. The university plans to offer master’s degrees in education and additional ministry-related degrees in the future.
