On Nov. 11, state Senator Larry Martin and Representative Greg Delleney received recognition from the South Carolina Baptist Convention for their pro-life and pro-family stances.

Tony Beam, chairman of the Christian Life and Public Affairs Committee, and Joe Mack, director of the office of public policy, presented a framed resolution commending the legislators for “pro-life, pro-family diligence” in the General Assembly.

“The committee wanted to show appreciation to Sen. Martin and Rep. Delleney for their consistent stance defending the right to life and working to preserve traditional, strong family values,” said Beam. It was the first time such an honor has been bestowed on individual legislators, he added.

Sen. Martin has represented District 2 in Pickens County since 1993. He previously served in the South Carolina House from 1979-1992.

Rep. Delleney has represented District 43 – Chester and York Counties – since 1991. He is a partner with Hamilton, Delleney & Hemlepp law offices in Chester.
