South Carolina couple receives IMB appointment

South Carolinians Michael and Amanda Hodge were among 105 new missionaries who were appointed Nov. 11 during the International Mission Board service at First Baptist Church, Houston.

The Hodges, who currently live in Lyman, will serve in South America. He will be an evangelist and church planter. She will be involved in community and home outreach.

Michael Hodge, a native of Greenville, is a graduate of Anderson University, where he received a bachelor of arts in religious studies. He earned a master of divinity at Southeastern Baptist Seminary.

Previously, he was associate pastor of education and outreach at Gowensville First Baptist Church, Landrum. He has served in facilities management at Southeastern Baptist Seminary. Former ministerial positions include interim minister of youth at Berea First Baptist Church, Greenville, and Northside Baptist Church, Anderson.

Amanda Lusk Hodge is a native of Anderson. She is a graduate of Piedmont Technical College and Anderson University, where where she earned a bachelor of science in elementary education.

She was a faculty secretary at Anderson. She also was a registrar assistant and faculty secretary at Southeastern Baptist Seminary.

The couple has two children, Alexis Leah, 6, and Jerrett Luke, 5.
