Charleston Southern University has two additions to its religion department – Michael Bryant as an assistant professor of religion specializing in New Testament and Bobby Howard as instructor of religion and youth minister.
Michael BryantBryant graduated in 1995 from Charleston Southern University with a B.S. in history, and earned an M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Seminary in 1998. He served as a pastor in eastern North Carolina for eight years, during which time he completed his Ph.D. in New Testament at Southeastern Baptist Seminary in 2008.
He and his wife Amy have four children ages 2 to 8 years old.
Bobby HowardBobby Howard joins the department as instructor of religion and youth ministry.
Howard completed an A.A.S. in nursing in 1990 and earned a B.S. in nursing from UNC-Greensboro in 1995. He has worked as an emergency room nurse and has also taught nursing courses.
In 1998, Howard earned an M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Seminary and expects to receive his Ed.D. from Southern Baptist Seminary in December 2009.
Howard served for eight years at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Asheville, N.C., as minister of youth and education.
He and his wife Kim are active in volunteer mission work.
