Quinn Hooks, pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church, Effingham, made a motion asking the Executive Board to report at the 2009 annual meeting on “the feasibility of, and possible timetable for, a move to a multi-site annual meeting to increase the opportunities and portals for South Carolina Baptists to participate.”
Murrill Boitnott, a messenger from Edwards Road Baptist Church, Greenville, presented a motion for the appointment of a study committee to “explore the possible ministry of providing residential care for developmentally disabled adults.” The state conventions of Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina offer such ministries, Boitnott said.
The motions were referred to the Resolutions Committee.
