I usually get a chuckle out of the comics in the back of The Baptist Courier. An exception was the comic “Reach One” that appeared in your Dec. 11 issue. It shows a church member telling a visitor wearing a “visitor” name tag that if he doesn’t wear the tag, nobody will know they are supposed to be friendly to him.
It reminded me of a Southern Baptist church I visited several years ago with my family. During the entire time we were there, nobody spoke to us. I’m afraid there are lots of churches whose members may be blind to the hurtful action of ignoring a newcomer in their midst.
